Manley – New South Wales

Yacht sailing in Manly waters close to the Sydney harbour bridge.

Manly is a suburb of northern Sydney, in the state of New South Wales, Australia. Manly is located 17 kilometers north–east of the Sydney central business district. It is one of Sydney's most popular seaside destinations, full of attractions and exciting activities including Manly Beach.

Manly is a seaside resort with 75% of its boundary comprising a land/water boundary; it rises in some parts to a little over 100 metres above sea level. The average Summer temperature is between 18° – 27° C and in Winter: 8° – 17° C.

So named after the confidence and 'manly behaviour' displayed by a group of local Aborigines spied in Manly Cove by Australia's first Governor, Captain Arthur Phillip in 1788, Manly has been attracting locals and visitors to its breathtaking shores for hundreds of years.
