The aim of the conference, entitled "The Magical World of Perioperative Nursing”" is to enable delegates to share information about highest standards within our work environments. It will be a forum for sharing and exchanging knowledge, expertise and experience. Nurses new to this area of advanced nursing will find support from colleagues whilst they are in the process of developing their roles and practice. Experienced nurses are invited to share with their colleagues and novices to advance the Perioperative field and to enhance patient care.
Abstracts related to striving for best practice within Perioperative Nursing are invited for the following themes (but are not limited to);
Papers selected should be suitable for a 12 minute presentation with an additional allocation of 3 minutes for questions & answers.
Please return abstracts together with the Presenter Profile (Abstract Cover Sheet) no later than 1700 EST on Friday 24 October 08. Abstracts received after this date will not be accepted.
All selected presenters must register for the conference to be eligible to present. The conference committee regrets that it is unable to meet any travel or reimbursement of expenses incurred. All presenters will be entitled to the Early Bird Rate.
All abstract submissions will be judged by the conference committee and you will be notified by mail of the committee's decision by Friday 31 October 2008.
Presentations must be written in English and emailed to 2008pnaq@tayloredimages.com.au. Abstracts can be submitted via email only as a word document with an accompanying presenter profile attached. The abstract should be no more than 250 words in length, 12 point Arial font.
The abstract should provide sufficient information to allow the reader to assess fully the aims, methods, results and implications of the work undertaken. Each submission must be original work that has not been published previously. The abstract should include the following sections:
It is important that methods and results are clearly defined in the abstract; therefore, general statements such as "results will be presented" are not acceptable. When a procedure or method is stated to have "advantages", those advantages should be defined. Abstracts that simply summarise results without defining objectives and methods are equally undesirable.
