It is my great pleasure to invite all members, affiliates and their guests to this year’s annual scientific meeting. The Hawkesbury Valley is a beautiful area with lots to see and do, and relatively close to the CBD and airports. The Sebel Resort and Spa is a first rate venue, with great facilities and staff, and is set in lovely park like grounds. And the Villa Thalgo Day Spa is simply opulent.
We are very fortunate this year to have as our invited guest none less than Dr Caroline Leclercq from Paris, France. Dr Leclercq has wide experience and expertise in all aspects of hand surgery and has many exciting presentations that I’m sure will be of great interest to all.
At this meeting I am proposing to showcase our Association to any potential new members and affiliates – so please give some thoughts to inviting a friend or colleague whom you think might be interested in joining.
On the social side, as well as all the usual sporting and recreation activities, we will be running an informal family program to make it easy for partners and children to get together while the scientific program is running. I think particular highlights of the social program will be the conference dinner on the Friday night (five course degustation with matched wines) and the optional Saturday night dinner at Tebbutt’s Observatory Restaurant.
As always, we encourage all attending to take some part in the scientific program, whether it be an original paper, literature review, case presentation, surgical technique or other contribution. There will also be a number of symposia and panel discussions, so put your thinking caps on and be warned – if I don’t hear from you, you may be hearing from me!
