Call for Abstracts

Scientific papers are invited for oral presentations. Authors should submit abstracts written in English to Taylored Images no later than 1700 hrs Friday 25 April 2008. Papers received after this date will not be accepted for inclusion in this year’s program. Abstracts are to be submitted here online via the Abstract Submission panel to the right.

Abstract Format

The abstract should provide sufficient information to allow the reader to assess fully the aims, methods, results and implications of the work undertaken. Each submission must be original work that has not been published /presented previously. The abstract should include the following sections:

• Introduction – the purpose of the study and a brief overview of relevant literature/current state of research in the field
• Methods – a short explanation of data collection and processing
• Results – presented in the form of text, graphics or tables
• Discussion – major findings and conclusions from the work including implications for further research.

It is important that methods and results are clearly defined in the abstract. Presentations are limited to ten minutes total - recommended seven minute presentation plus two minutes for questions and one minute for changeover.

Layout

• Abstracts must be written within a 160 mm x 245 mm rectangular space for an A4 page (210 mm x 297 mm) layout
• Portrait orientation
• Margins are all to be 25 mm
• Text should be left justified and single spaced
• Font should be ARIAL typeface and 12 pt character size

Instructions to Authors Concerning Submission Methods

(ABSTRACTS WILL ONLY BE ACCEPTED ELECTRONICALLY)

Please ensure you adhere strictly to the abstract formatting guidelines. These guidelines must be followed in order for your abstract to proceed for review.

1. Follow the General Guidelines
2. Click on "Submit Abstract" button in the abstract submission panel to the right and follow the prompts
3. It is essential all photographs and diagrams are embedded within the document, prior to uploading the abstract
4. On submission, you will be issued a unique abstract access key which will allow you to view and edit your abstract/s after submission until 1700 Friday 25 April 08

Receipt and Acknowledgement of Abstracts

All abstracts received will be acknowledged to the presenting author instantly on submission. The final outcome of the review process will be notified to all presenting authors by Monday 09 May 2008. Accepted abstracts will be allocated one of three presentation formats: a standard 7 minute presentation, 3 minute short paper or poster.

Acceptance of the Abstract will not have a bearing on the registration fee, which will be paid to attend the meeting. All persons should be aware that the dates included for the payment of registration and cancellation fees will be strictly administered.
