It gives me great pleasure to invite all members and those interested in hand surgery to attend the forthcoming Australian Hand Surgery Society Annual Scientific Meeting to be held in Canberra in March 2010.
Tony Beard and his Committee have organised an outstanding Meeting with a nicely balanced academic and social programme.
The invited Professor is Professor Jin Bo Tang. Professor Tang is very well known in hand surgery society circles. He has published an astounding amount of work on many different hand surgery subjects, both experimental and clinical. I am sure he will be an outstanding guest.
Following the ASM there will be a Registrar’s Training Course and I would be grateful if you could encourage your trainees to attend.
Best Wishes

Canberra in autumn is a beautiful city and the Hyatt an impressive venue. A warm welcome is guaranteed in the capital city for this year’s Australian Hand Surgery Society Annual Scientific Meeting.
This meeting offers us all an opportunity to expand the field of Hand Surgery, sharing knowledge and research ideas. An exciting social programme is planned including dinners at the War Memorial and National Portrait Gallery. The programme includes a chance to explore Parliament House and Canberra’s many attractions.
This year we are honoured to have Professor Jin Bo Tang from China as our Guest Professor. His exceptional knowledge and broad experience in basic research, flexor tendon surgery, problems related to the wrist and inferior radioulnar joint, and soft tissue reconstruction promises to offer something new and innovative for all of us.
Welcome to Canberra.
I look forward to seeing you all in March 2010.
Tony Beard
