The Australasian Evaluation Society
invites you to participate in its 2005 International Conference in Brisbane. The venue for the 2005 conference is Rydges South Bank, Brisbane. The hotel is a two minutes stroll from South Bank Parklands and the Brisbane River, and is an easy walk to restaurants, river ferries and Brisbane’s arts and entertainment precinct. Brisbane is less than an hour’s drive to the Gold Coast, with its tourist attractions of Dreamworld, Sea World and Movie World, and just over an hour’s drive north to Australia Zoo and the beaches and hinterland of the Sunshine Coast.

The conference will look at evaluation from the ‘inside out’ –
its theory, methods and practice, and trends for its future development and use.

Within this there will be five strands:
• Looking in: developments in and reflection on evaluation theory
• Looking around: methods and trends in evaluation practice
• Looking out: uses and abuses of evaluation
• Looking closer: values and ethics in evaluation
• Looking at: evaluation stories and special topics

Guest Speakers are:
VALERIE CARACELLI from the US Government Accountability Office.
PHILLIP ADAMS, noted Australian social commentator, columnist, and radio presenter.
